You have a draft
One of the most common reasons why your home might still feel cold despite you having the furnace on is that you have one or more drafty spots in your home. All it takes is for some weatherstripping around your windows and doors to come loose or a hole to develop in your walls and suddenly all the cold air is getting in and making you feel freezing. Check for drafts, block them where you can and it should start to feel warmer in no time at all.
Your HVAC needs a service
If your HVAC system has not been serviced in a while this could be the cause of your problem. If there are blockages or any part of the system is not running as smoothly as it should, then it will not be able to heat up your home effectively or evenly and you may end up with lots of cold spots. Call in an expert and have it looked over if you want to start feeling toasty warm again.
Your vents are blocked
If you have furniture up against the vents, then the warm air will not be able to get pumped into the room. This goes for homes with radiators or other sources of heating too - if the source is blocked, even partially by couches and shelving units and who knows what else, the air will not be able to do its job of circulating around the room and keeping the place warm. You need to change the filter
A really common reason for cold homes, that is so easy to remedy, is a dirty furnace filter. If the filter is dirty, the furnace won’t function optimally and it is as simple as changing said filter to get your home feeling hot once more.
Your home is not humid enough
When humidity is low, the air will feel colder than it does when it is moister. So, if you have dry air in your house, try buying and running a humidifier to see if that improves the situation any.
