Traditional eggnog is made with whole eggs, sugar, and heavy cream. In my mom's there's even ice cream! As much as I love eggnog, I could not afford the calories in the traditional eggnog drink.
To get more of my favorite drink, I looked for ways to make the drink a lightened-up version. Mine still has whole eggs, and I added something new: Oatmilk. The naturally creamy nature of oatmilk is a perfect swap for whole milk or heavy cream. I also reduced the sugar and tried maple syrup, and added a bit more high-quality vanilla extract.
