This month we are working with recipes. I decided to make a strawberry pie, even though my strawberries are not ready. The sustainable part of this recipe is the strawberry plants that I have in my garden. This year I had to replace some when we had a freeze in late March. My neighbor had extra, so lucky for me!
This pie is also amazing to make for Mother's Day. I love having a pretty dessert to bring to the table and this one is truly a gorgeous one. The strawberries I found at the grocery store were simply lovely. I was happy to get to work with such awesome berries.
There is no trick to this pie at all. Super simple, uses ingredients you may have in your pantry already. That's a win/win! It's simple enough that even the kids could make it!

Here's my recipe for the pie!
I am also including a cute recipe card that you can include with the pie if you are giving it as a gift. It's so pretty and I love that it is designed to print and use your own handwriting. That makes it even more special.
This looks really delicious and quite interesting, Terri! Nothing beats homegrown strawberries! I've never heard of champagne flavoring. I love strawberries and eager to try this using the flavoring!
ReplyDeleteStrawberry pie is one of my favorites and yours sound delicious!
ReplyDeleteThat looks absolutely delicious. I hope your strawberries will do well in your garden this year.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so fancy, it's hard to believe how easy it is to make! I love having strawberry plants in the garden as they are so easy to grow and they propagate themselves. Where I live we are lucky that the frosts are not hard enough to damage them. It's good that you have lovely neighbours to help you out with yours.
