5 Great Wines from Spain Perfect for Gift Giving #WorldWineTravel

If you have been following me this past year, you may be aware that we've had a year-long focus on Spanish wines, and what a year it has been. I have learned so much and developed a taste for Spanish wines (particularly tempranillo and Cava.)  This month I want to share with you 5 Great Wines from Spain that are perfect for gift giving and if your recipient is worthy, look at these small group tours spain for those lucky people!

Before we get started, let's look at what I've covered for you during this adventure through Spain:

Quite a good series that I am very proud of and mostly thanks to my #WorldWineTravel blogger friends who have taught me so much.  Gracias!

5 Great Wines from Spain Perfect for Gift Giving

1.  Azimut Cava  About $20

I first shared this with you in February, so check out the post above for details.  This Cava is dry, crisp, and floral, with massive bubbles.  So. Good.  New Year's Eve worthy.

2.  Marques de Caceres  about $15

This is the Rioja I shared to start our journey in Spain.  We had it for the first time when we visited Spain in 2019.   The profile is of cherry, with light tannins and strong acidity. It's a gorgeous rose.

3.  Amontillado Sherry about $20

Lustau Los Arcos Amontillado.  It has this wonderfully unique copper color, with a nut-bread character.  It is an amazing drink, and even if it is sherry, it's not the old people drink.  It's a wonderful gift, unique, and a conversation piece.

4.  Tempranillo.  Period.

I have yet to find a Tempranillo wine I didn't like.  I have tried all price ranges and all areas of Spain and I seem to love them all!   For fun though, bring a bottle with a six-pack of real Coca-Cola.  Make this cocktail and watch the party happen!

5.   Fillabola Albarino about $40 (for me, a bit of a splurge!)

This beautiful and delicious wine is a great wine to have with fish.  It's a dry wine, with light bubbles, a beautiful straw color,  and lots of citrus/pineapple.  Delicious.

And here's a bonus from my friend Lynn from Savor the Harvest.  She highly recommends this wine from MicroBio Wines called Correcaminos Blanco, which translates to "roadrunner."  Read her post here to learn more about this wine.  It's about $25 a bottle but there are excellent reasons why!

Here you go!  I will be sharing some other wonderful posts on Spanish wines throughout the rest of December via my social media pages @Facebook and @Instagram.   Other "wrap-up" style posts for our year-long study of Spanish wines are here:
In January our #WorldWineTravel bloggers are going to spend a year in Australia, so check back in during the fourth week of January to see where we take you!
