5 Great Wines from Spain Perfect for Gift Giving
1. Azimut Cava About $20
I first shared this with you in February, so check out the post above for details. This Cava is dry, crisp, and floral, with massive bubbles. So. Good. New Year's Eve worthy.
2. Marques de Caceres about $15
This is the Rioja I shared to start our journey in Spain. We had it for the first time when we visited Spain in 2019. The profile is of cherry, with light tannins and strong acidity. It's a gorgeous rose.
3. Amontillado Sherry about $20
Lustau Los Arcos Amontillado. It has this wonderfully unique copper color, with a nut-bread character. It is an amazing drink, and even if it is sherry, it's not the old people drink. It's a wonderful gift, unique, and a conversation piece.
4. Tempranillo. Period.
I have yet to find a Tempranillo wine I didn't like. I have tried all price ranges and all areas of Spain and I seem to love them all! For fun though, bring a bottle with a six-pack of real Coca-Cola. Make this cocktail and watch the party happen!
5. Fillabola Albarino about $40 (for me, a bit of a splurge!)
This beautiful and delicious wine is a great wine to have with fish. It's a dry wine, with light bubbles, a beautiful straw color, and lots of citrus/pineapple. Delicious.
And here's a bonus from my friend Lynn from Savor the Harvest. She highly recommends this wine from MicroBio Wines called Correcaminos Blanco, which translates to "roadrunner." Read her post here to learn more about this wine. It's about $25 a bottle but there are excellent reasons why!
