Upcycled Mason Jar Hummingbird Feeder #pinterestchallenge

Welcome to April Pinterest Challenge! The host, Alexandra, is the creator behind EyeLoveKnots, where she shares her own crochet designs, plastic canvas projects, and other yarn-related crafts, and On Rockwood Lane, where she shares everything else! If you don't find yarn and a coffee mug in her hands, you might find her baking in the kitchen, tending to her garden, re-decorating for a new season or holiday, or cuddling with her two cats.

This month for the Pinterest Challenge the theme was to upcycle things in honor of Earth Day.  I found this pin from Sweet Tea Makery for this adorable hummingbird feeder and I knew that would be my challenge.  Part of the challenge was that a piece of the craft was purchased new, so I would have to go into a store for the first time in months... until I found out they had curbside delivery!  Woo hoo!

All you need to make this adorable feeder is the following:

Mason jar
Mason jar hanger
Hummingbird nectar
Mason jar insert (from Michael's Craft Store)

Trace the Mason jar onto red plastic.  Cut out and punch four holes into the plastic for the birds to drink from.  Make your nectar, pour it into the jar once it has cooled.  Put the insert on top of the jar, then screw on the jar hanger.  Hang it where you want to feed the hummingbirds!

Come and check out the other Earth Day inspired crafts at these other blogs.  You will be so excited to see what they have come up for you!
