Both my husband and I do not do a lot of sugar but we do miss those yummers like ice cream and cake. I fixed our cake issue here (our blog's number one pin!) and now I have mastered the chocolate milkshake with the help from this pin by Gnom Gnom. You will find their recipe there.
I mixed it up a bit, so I am publishing a different take on their milkshake. Thank you to Arlene (our party host!) for giving me that push!
Yield: 2
Keto Chocolate Malt
A great replacement for a malt with only 3 net grams of carbs.
Prep time: 3 MCook time: 3 MTotal time: 6 M
Ingredients:
- 1/2 c heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 c ice
- 1 t malt powder
- 1 t vanilla
- 1 T cocoa powder
- 1-2 T erythritol
- 1/2 ripe avocado
Instructions:
- In a heavy blender, blend all ingredients until thick and ice are completely gone. Divide into two glasses and serve with a straw.
Notes:
Use a ripe avocado. Flicks of hard avocado are not tasty.
You can substitute the cream for the same amount of canned coconut milk. I use half the fat, too.
You can add a little water if it is too thick.
Add mini chocolate chips and eat like ice cream.
There are 3 net carbs per serving.

Terri they look so yummy. Me and my hubby are watching our sugar intake as well. This would be a great little treat for us to have. Thanks for the inspiration. Pinned!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to see that this recipe does not include bananas (like so many healthy versions and I just can't stand bananas!). This sounds delicious. Pinned.
