Campania is seeing a resurgence in winemaking as family-run wineries work on bringing their vineyards up to speed. Campania is in the cool Mediterranean climate, with a high elevation and coastal influences, which produces a cooler climate. The sandy soil and volcanic ash create both red and white wines.

Marsala's Market was opened in New Town at Saint Charles in 2006 by Debbie and Mark Hohenshell. The market was named after Debbie's great-grandfather, Francesco Marsala who was the first to come to America from Italy. The market is the cornerstone of our community, where we meet to get a soda, snack, or pick up dinner from their amazing deli case or meat case. And, as you already know, you can call and talk to Mark and Deb about all things wine.
Our chicken pot pie was purchased from our local bakery, Sweet Things. All we had to do was heat it up in the oven, which was the perfect way to cook after all the work we had done in our garden. Sweet Things Bakery is relatively new to our community but feels like they are long established here. The chicken pot pie is delicious, and contrary to what you might think, it is not too heavy or filling for a spring day!
