I was inspired to create sugar scrubs for my own mother when I saw this pin by Simple Pure Beauty. I liked all the scents and chose a few to make for my mom. Making sugar scrubs is easy and fun and it is fun to play with the scents. The purpose of this Pinterest Challenge is to motivate all the participants (and you too) to not just pin, but to make it happen! This month's challenge is about Mother's Day or projects geared towards the women in our lives.
Typically, sugar scrubs are made in larger containers. Since we are still in stay-at-home with Covid-19, I used what containers I already had. Since I wanted to play with scents, I made these smaller containers so I can send them through the mail.
The recipe for these smaller, 2 oz containers is this: 3 T coconut oil, 2 T sugar, and several drops of essential oils. I did make some changes for different ones, and I will share those with you for each photo.
Lemon Sugar Scrub
Basic recipe plus 6-8 drops lemon essential oils. Stir together vigorously. I do that in a separate bowl and then pour into the containers.Lavender Sugar Scrub
Basic recipe plus 5 drops of lavender essential oils.Patchouli Brown Sugar Scrub
3 T coconut oil, 2 T brown sugar, 1 T white sugar, and 4 drops of Patchouli. Again, mixing in a separate bowl, and pouring into a container.Wrap them up in a delightful container and send away! I am packing mine individually in ziplocks when mailing.
