If you’re reading this, then you’re from one of the many countries that are currently had lockdown measures enforced. As such, you’re stuck inside every day and have realized that you took so much for granted. We’re in testy times, but there’s still so much to look forward to. I find that thinking about the future is a great way to forget about the present!
So, with that in mind, here are the top things to look forward to when the lockdown is lifted:
Seeing your friends and family
Most of us are in positions where we’re stuck with our immediate family - or maybe one or two flatmates. If you’re really unlucky, then you’re all by yourself! Regardless, we can’t see any of our other friends or family members. It took until now to realize just how much you appreciate seeing them! As soon as the lockdown measures are lifted, one of the first things I’ll do is organize multiple gatherings with the people I love!
Going out to eat
I’m not an awful cook, but it’s easy to get tired of the same meals over and over again. There’s only so much you can tolerate before you need a change. I never realized how much I enjoyed
going out to eat until this lockdown started. It wasn’t something I did that often, but that just made it all the more special and enjoyable. When you’re stuck inside with limited supplies to cook from, it makes you crave your favorite restaurant more and more.
Travel
Yes, yes, yes, a million times yes. I cannot wait to finally be able to travel again. If this quarantine period has taught me anything, it’s that I really need to get out and
see more of the world. We all need a holiday after this, but even traveling to a nearby place is going to feel like a luxury after the last few weeks/months of being stuck inside. Obviously, there are still some concerns about
booking a trip after COVID 19. Still, you’d like to imagine that travel will be permitted if lockdowns get lifted around the world. Even if you have to wait a little bit longer, it will make the experience all the more pleasurable when it’s allowed.
Getting back to a normal routine
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m almost looking forward to going back to work! Okay, it’s not the actual work per se, but more the routine it brings. Life at home feels like one long blur where all the days merge into one. It’s so easy to slip into
feelings of depression or sadness because you feel like you’re achieving nothing. When everything gets back to normal, it will feel amazing to finally have some sort of routine again.
These are the four things I’m mainly looking forward to - and so should you! If you’re struggling to pass the time, then think about all the great things you’ll be able to do once everything is over. You could even start planning what you’ll do with your friends, or think about where you’ll go on your next trip!
