My Fun Foodie Gift Guide 2019

In addition to travel, my family also loves food, in any form, from creating and cooking our own recipes to eating out at restaurants and having food experiences when we travel. So it was a no-brainer to create this list of gifts for people who are foodies like us.

One thing to keep in mind, not only are we cooks, we are people who like new and interesting foods, food experiences and gadgets. Oh yes, we love our gadgets.  I might be the more gadgety of our family, but even so, it seems like everyone ends up using whatever I find!

1.  No Taste Like Home

Here’s a gift EXPERIENCE: wild food foraging in Asheville, NC. No Taste Like Home has been taking people “out to eat” for 25 years and are TripAdvisor-ranked #1 foraging activity in the world. Participants learn to safely gather edible wild plants, mushrooms and more. Five Asheville restaurants will prepare their finds with lunch or dinner for free. This salad has violet, spring beauty, chickweed, day lily, and wild mustard.

Doesn't this sound like fun?  I have wanted to do this since I read My Side of the Mountain.

20% off public tours until January 1st.

2.  NEGG

For your holiday gift guide, I suggest you include the Negg®, the world’s #1 egg peeler. The female founders cracked the code on one of the food prep's most painful pain points. Who doesn't hate peeling hard-boiled eggs?

Cold water and some shaking are all it takes for this hardboiled egg peeler to work. The product is available on the Negg website, Amazon, or a number of specialty retailers, including Sur La Table. The Negg® makes peeling eggs easy, fast and fun. It retails for $14.95 and is made in the USA.

Among the many fans of the Negg® are health and fitness advocates who find an easy-to-peel egg a perfect way to get their protein. It's also a hit with parents who involve their kids in preparing food and older Americans who suffer from arthritis.

And friends, the shop on the website is adorable. THE cutest gifts all about eggs. Check it out.

3.  Eat Your Coffee

Eat Your Coffee Bars are a great gift for foodies because they are not only a quick snack to eat during a busy schedule, but they also provide caffeine equivalent to a cup of coffee!  These taste GOOD and my foodie friends tell me that they love having a readily available snack that gives a boost of energy.

4.  Alpine Start Coffee

Ok friends, trust me here. This is a GOOD coffee that travels very well, especially for backpackers, campers parents, etc, but I like it because it is as easy as a Keurig but tastes much better.  There are three flavors, original high altitude Colombian aracaica bean coffee, Coconut Creamer Latte, and Dirty Chai Latte.  You can find them on Amazon and REI stores.  I think you will like the fact that it dissolves in both hot and cold liquids.

I started looking around for good-for-you cereals because my son-in-law loves a granola. I found wonderful granolas and cereals at Barbara's.  And while I am loving the cereals, the recipe possibilities are endless.  Foodies like me are creating new recipes by the minute, and you will see really good recipes on the website. Please go and check them out. This has become my go-to bedtime snack!

I hope you found something you could surprise your foodie with from this short, but well-curated list of gifts. In my family, food is an acceptable gift, especially if it tastes wonderful!
