My second recipe for you this week is a tea bread. I love making tea breads to give to friends and neighbors and this one says "fall" like no other. Even the glaze has a beautiful apple flavor. To change things up, I used Hot Apple Cider Tea to infuse the oatmeal and in the glaze. I think you will really like it!
Yield: 1 loaf
Hot Apple Cider Tea Bread
Using Hot Apple Cider Tea brings out the apple flavor of this tea bread.
prep time: 6 H & 15 Mcook time: 40 Mtotal time: 6 H & 55 M
ingredients:
- 1 c Bob's Red Mill flour
- 1/2 c Flahavan's oatmeal
- 3/4 c Republic of Tea Hot Apple Cider
- 1 t pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 c butter
- 3 T brown sugar, packed
- 1 c applesauce
- Glaze
- 2 T hot apple cider tea
- 2 T brown sugar, packed
- 1 t pumpkin pie spice
- 1 t Torani caramel syrup
instructions:
How to cook Hot Apple Cider Tea Bread
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Grease a loaf pan.
- Soak oats overnight in tea.
- In a large bowl combine flour, salt, spice, sugar, and applesauce
- Stir until ingredients are well incorporated.
- Drain liquid from oats and add to mixture, stir.
- Pour into prepared pan.
- Bake 40 minutes, test with a toothpick inserted, if done, toothpick will be clean. If not done, bake in 5 minute intervals.
- Remove from oven when done.
- To make glaze, combine brown sugar, tea and syrup. Boil for 2-3 minutes.
- Brush glaze on warm tea bread.
