Summer Hot Chocolate

I love hot chocolate and have been known to drink it during the summer months. Creating this Summer Hot Chocolate (iced hot chocolate) was a great idea for when you just can't drink a hot drink!  You can blend it, serve it over ice, or just enjoy it with milk cold from the refrigerator.  It is a great way to enjoy hot chocolate all year long!

Summer Hot Chocolate has all the flavors of regular hot chocolate, rich, creamy and chocolaty but is served chilled, even over ice if you want.  It's like what iced coffee does for coffee!

What makes this Summer Hot Chocolate better than iced hot chocolate?  I made a rich batter using a chocolate cake mix.  No, really I did.  No packets of hot chocolate or heaping spoonsful of hot chocolate powder.  This is a batter that is diluted with cold, creamy milk.  You will be able to tell the difference right away!

Summer Hot Chocolate

A cooled down version of hot chocolate for summer sipping.

ingredients:

• 3 T devils food cake mix
• 3 T heavy cream
• 2 T chocolate chips
• 1 T white corn syrup
• 2 T chocolate syrup
• 1 t vanilla
• 12 oz cold milk
• 4 roasted marshmallows

How to cook Summer Hot Chocolate

1. Mix together the cream, syrup, cake mix, and vanilla.
2. Divide between two mugs.
3. Add 6 oz of milk to each cup and stir.
4. Top with roasted marshmallows.
