If you cook bacon, they will come.
This Bloody Mary mix was created and shared at one of my husband's infamous Christmas parties and was deemed the best of the best. We love it and it is so easy to make. We are huge olive fans, hence the olive juice and we love Trader Joe's tomato vegetable juice blend. There's our secrets!
For me, Bloody Mary's are about the garnish. I have had fantastic Bloody Marys but have been disappointed due to the wimpy garnish. Bloody Marys deserve a garnish meant for a Queen. After all, they were named for Queen Mary 1 of England. There is controversy about that statement, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Garnishes: we love candied bacon in about anything and chose to use this as one of our favorites. You can find our recipe for Candied Bacon here. We also love using Shrimp Cocktail on skewers. Yum. Other favorites: slim jims, dill pickle spears, and celery filled with pimento cheese (lay it across the glass, not in it.

ReplyDeleteMmmmm....you've just made bloody Marys even more irresistible!
ReplyDeleteSure, bacon with bloody Marys has been done before, but candying the bacon is pure genius!
ReplyDeleteI like that aside from making an awesome bloody mary recipe, you also pay close attention to the garnish. I agree, it's also about the garnish and we should totally make an effort into making it more grand!
ReplyDeleteYum! I'm not a huge Bloody Mary fan, but you sold me with the candied bacon swizzle. Of course it would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteYes please!! That's probably the only way I would drink one...so I could control the salt and other stuff that goes in a Bloody Mary. Yours looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteOmg can we say yum?!?!! Bloody Mary's are the ultimate brunch drink!!!!!! Plus how can something g with bacon in it not be absolutely amazing?!?!
ReplyDeleteWhat? Bacon in a bloody Mary? That's genius, and would definitely amp up an already flavorful drink! You're right, bacon makes everything better!
ReplyDeleteEverything is better with bacon it looks like! I don't drink alcohol very often but would enjoy a virgin version of this drink!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I'm going to share this post with my sister! She's the biggest bacon fiend I know and I will happily help her work thru this list!
ReplyDeleteOoo, shrimp cocktail, too? Great idea. The Thai restaurant where my daughter works puts seafood rangoons on theirs as a garnish.
I've had Candied Bacon on a hamburger before, and it was really good. I've never had a Bloody Mary before…I've always been kind of curious but haven't tried it yet.
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of tomato juice so, bloody marys are just not my thing. But I best the bacon does add a unique flavor
ReplyDeleteOH wow, that looks delicious. I would never think to add bacon, but it looks like it adds a yummy touch. Saving this recipe!
