Not week long vacations, but those little out of town trips where you go and do something fun with your families or friends! Branson is a place I like to go on a mini trip. We usually spend a long weekend together. Branson has shopping, fishing, swimming, shows, antiquing, strolling, and The Ducks.
What about you? Where do you like to go in the summer? Any favorite places that you need to go to or you feel like you've missed something??
I have never been to Branson - sounds fun! We always liked to shop in antique stores wherever we traveled. I like to collect old cookbooks from different areas of the U.S.

As you know, my favourite place to visit is Niagara Falls, Ontario, but since it's over 6 hours away from me, it's not a good place for a day trip! lol Killarney and Manitoulin Island are two places about a 2 hour drive from me so they are perfect places for day trip...I'm due to go there soon:-) xoxo
ReplyDeleteWe like to go to Lake Lanier and the N. Georgia Mountains usually. But this year we're not taking as many weekend trips. My husband is swamped with work. They keep laying people off and giving the remaining people more work (believe me we're happy he's got a job but really do they have to squeeze every ounce out of people these days!!).

ReplyDeleteAs you know, we've been visiting areas within 2 1/2 hours of us this summer - our camping trip was at a site only 2 hours from our home. We're planning a little day trip to the Lake Murray area of Oklahoma in August. I'm looking forward to that! I'm so into the outdoors lately - I'm surprising the heck out of myself! lol

By far our favorite place to go for mini-trips or even a day trip is the White Mts in NH! Just a two hour ride and we are in one of the prettiest most spectacular areas of New England! We also love Freeport, Maine...home of LL Bean, and the Maine seacoast! For some glitz and glamour nothing beats Mohegan Sun in CT! And several times, though it has been a while since we have done it, my friends have done a whirlwind day trip to NYC. It is only 3.5 hours by train!

ReplyDeleteI have never been to Branson and it sounds like such fun!
We go to Columbus, Cincinnati and into Indy for a day. Ther are lots of little towns here in Ohio that are such fun to walk and take photos.
