Friendship Soup
I hosted Bunco on Sunday night and for one of our dishes I made Friendship Soup. Well, actually, Bob made Friendship Soup. Here's what we did:
I asked each of the 12 Bunco Babes (our group name!) to bring one specific canned good. Then Bob made up the soup using this recipe:
Friendship Soup
1 lb hamburger
1 medium onion, chopped
Brown hamburger, add onion and cook until softened.
Add in 1 can diced tomatoes, 1 can crushed tomatoes, 1 can green beans, 1 can corn, 1 can sliced potatoes, 1 can sliced carrots, 1 can beef broth, 1 can corn, 1 can peas and 1 can of small red kidney beans. Add water as needed. Add 1 t of dried basil, oregano, salt and pepper.
Heat thoroughly. Stir in 1 c pasta (any shape) and cook until pasta is al dente.
Then the soup is shared with your friends! Your friends helped make it and eat it!

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun winter gathering idea.
Terri, thanks for sharing. I was wondering how to make it when you were talking about it. Cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing such a great sounding recipe. Hope you are having a good day.
ReplyDeleteA much better offering than Stone Soup! It's a very good idea and I'd like to try it before winter ends.
ReplyDeleteMy grandchildren are going to LOVE this soup ... thanks so much !!!!
ReplyDeleteI will definitely will try this recipe on my family! Can I put it in the crock pot after I brown the meat?
ReplyDeleteI love this idea and it sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteOkay, you had me until you threw in the corn. I cannot do meat and corn together in the same pot. Seperately I love it, but just not in the same dish. I know I'm weird.
ReplyDeleteI'm serious when I ask if Bob would ever consider giving lessons to other husbands??????
ReplyDeleteHi Terri..I'll have to try that recipe soon. My neighbor gave me a friendship soup in a jar once..it was a bunch of dried ingredients and I just had to add water...it was yummy!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
robin
