A Winter Right Hook
(News Tribune photo)
Jefferson City and most of Missouri received a winter "right hook" yesterday with about two inches of snow and under that, a half an inch of ice. In the midst of all the chaos, Jefferson City Schools called off classes. For the first time in Bob's thirty years of education, HE didn't have to go to school, but I did! Yes, California (Missouri) had school. I drove thirty some miles in terrible conditions. Now that it is over, I am grateful we had school, as we are off for two weeks anyway.
I hope each of you are safe at home, warm by your fire, and sipping hot cocoa with someone you love!

Oh, boy, we had this same storm. Fortunately the road crews were out in force and things didn't get too bad. Schools here close at the mere mention of a storm and true to form, they called off early.
ReplyDeleteWhat a mess! What a pretty mess! I hate driving in those kinds of conditions and must often. I can't imagine having to do it for that many miles when you're not used to it. You done good!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Christmas break. Boy, aren't you all just ready for it?!
We've just got plain old rain here in South Carolina. It's supposed to be gray and rainy and 63 degrees today. I'd love just a couple of inches of the white stuff. Santa, are you listening?
ReplyDeleteIt is the same here. Very cold and more snow. Stay warm
ReplyDeleteI'm in So. California. It's raining and super windy today. I'd love some snow!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the snow, but I hate when there is ice underneath.
ReplyDeleteWe cancelled and remade appointments so we wouldn't have to get out. I made soup and we sat in the hearth room, watching the fire. That is, until today. J, got antsy and thought of several reasons why he and Molly should go to town. As for me, I'm content!
ReplyDeleteStay safe in this mess. I've heard a few predictions for next week. That is, after a little warm up!
