I'm the big 5-0 today!
Last night Bob surprised me by hosting a small birthday party in my honor at our house. He was the host and chef and waiter! It was so fun to have them over and celebrating ME!
First course was shrimp cocktail... my personal all time favorite. It was followed by tomato basil soup which I failed to get a picture of...
Next was a salad with homemade garlic croutons and parmesan shards with homemade balsamic vinegarette dressing.
Next was bay scallops with bacon and black salt.
Dinner was a ribeye steak on grilled garlic toast with roasted cauliflower and Spanish green beans...
Dessert was Hagen Daus ice cream with homemade hot fudge sauce with whipped cream and an almond cookie.
Here's a toast of Bob's limoncello to my fiftieth birthday and to our Chef...
And the other wonderful libations Bob kept pouring for us as the night went on...
Thank you dear husband, for the surprise and for all you did to organize something for me and to keep it a surprise from your very remarkably smart wife who usually figures these things out!
